Week 4: Lombardy, Italy

It is WEEK 4 in Lombardy, Italy and I am dumbfounded that so many people in America  are not taking this thing seriously! Each day I wonder why I see countless posts about people outside of their homes, hitting the beach, and out for a sunny day “stroll”. BUT… Did you NOT SEE what is happening to Italy?

WELL…. Let me tell you again:

STOP GOING OUTSIDE, STOP GOING TO YOUR FRIENDS!!!! STAY AT HOME AND THIS WILL COME TO AN END! Italy is facing DEVASTATING amounts of deaths each day and we have one the world’s best healthcare system!! What does that say? I have been in home quarantine for exactly a month but the end is NOWHERE IN SIGHT! How can that be? WE WEREN’T SMART IN THE BEGINNING!! WE DID NOT TAKE IT SERIOUSLY!! So learn from our example before it’s too late, because if you hold it off longer, I promise it won’t be great! Let me break it down for you: We waited too long to make everyone stay at home, the virus spread, and now we aren’t anywhere close to the end.

The FACTS

Two weeks ago on March 8th Italy just had 366 deaths total, now we are at 5,476!!! We waited 2 weeks to make everyone stay at home instead of looking out at what happened in China, we ignored it and that was WRONG. Italy’s economic system is shot, our friends and families are dying, and no one is giving it a goddamn thought! I am pissed and I am mad, as people in America laugh and laugh. What’s going to happen when your the reason your grandma dies? Will you finally get it that this isn’t all a lie? Our doctors and nurses are working hours and fighting to save lives, but you are all too selfish, you go outside. Our hospitals are overflowing now we have to pick who lives and who dies. Do you really want to be the reason why? Just so you could get some time outside?

PLEASE STOP AND HERE’S WHY:

Karen was infected but she won’t feel it for 10 days so she goes outside

10 people get infected from Karen but they won’t feel it for 10 days so they go outside

100 people get infected from those 10 people, but those 100 go outside because they STILL DON’T FEEL IT

1000 people get infected from those 100 people and THEY GO OUTSIDE!!

THIS CYCLE KEEPS GOING… DO YOU GET IT NOW?
